That's not the output we we're looking for. strace should be quite verbose....
strace yum update > /tmp/strace.log 2>&1
or alternatively:
gdb `which strace` ... gdb) r update ... ...Segfault.. gdb) bt
PS - Please provide more details on what is happening. The log on the console, anything in /var/log/*, ldd on yum etc.
