Hi, I have a CentOS 4.1 (with a two hdds RAID 1 using mdadm) running some database system.... I connected a DLT device on its SCSI interface (/dev/nst0) in order to make some external backup..... I dump several filesystems (/, /boot /usr /var /home and others)....so and when I try to dump manualy for expmple /boot I get this:
[root@Server ~]# dump -0vuf /dev/nst0 /boot DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu Sep 13 16:00:02 2007 DUMP: Dumping /dev/md0 (/boot) to /dev/nst0 DUMP: Excluding inode 8 (journal inode) from dump DUMP: Excluding inode 7 (resize inode) from dump DUMP: Label: none DUMP: Writing 10 Kilobyte records DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files] DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories] DUMP: estimated 5706 blocks. DUMP: ACLs in inode #14072 won't be dumped DUMP: dumping regular inode 14073 DUMP: ACLs in inode #14073 won't be dumped DUMP: Closing /dev/nst0 DUMP: Volume 1 completed at: Thu Sep 13 16:00:06 2007 DUMP: Volume 1 5710 blocks (5.58MB) DUMP: Volume 1 took 0:00:04 DUMP: Volume 1 transfer rate: 1427 kB/s DUMP: 5710 blocks (5.58MB) on 1 volume(s) DUMP: finished in 1 seconds, throughput 5710 kBytes/sec DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Thu Sep 13 16:00:02 2007 DUMP: Date this dump completed: Thu Sep 13 16:00:06 2007 DUMP: Average transfer rate: 1427 kB/s DUMP: DUMP IS DONE
So, I think I have some problem with dump and some other ACls (maybe selinux).... but the fact is that I can't restore nothing because it seems to be dumping only / filesystem (/dev/md0).. all other filesystems are not in the tape device....I disabled selinux on this server and nothing... I always received this error when dumping (ACLs in inode won't be dumped)
Please, I'm now looking in google but I'd like to hear your opinion about this error...
Is the DLT devide broken? Am I making somethig wrong with the command dump?
thanks in advance Israel
