are you using smb mounts, or just smbclient with 'get/put' ftp-style file access?
I don't know, how I can check it? What are using when you connect by "Connect to server" >> "Shared Windows" ?
A priori I would respond smb mounts but if I check it with "mount" in Terminal when connected to the NAS I don't see nothing.
