Anybody know how to upgrade MySQL 4.1.12 that come with Centos 4.2 to 5.0
There are mysql 5 packages in the testing repository. go to http://dev.centos.org/centos/4/ and put that repo file in /etc/yum.repos.d/ then do 'yum --enablerepo c4-testing install mysql-server'
If those packages work for you, provide feedback. After enough positive feedback they get moved to centosplus or the extras repository for everyone to use.
If you're going to use test packages, you should probably join
http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos-devel
to discuss and give feedback there.
You should also leave feedback on the bug tracker for CentOS. In this case, http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1124
