Every couple of weeks I run
#yum list availble > YumAvailable.txt
Then when I want to know the name of a package or what is available I will do a
#grep -i swat YumAvailable.txt
It can be a good bit faster if you don't have a local yum repository, though caching the information locally means that it might be a little out of date.

You can find out what's available by using yum.
[root@mattboston root]# yum list available | grep -i swat samba-swat i386 3.0.7-1.3E.1 update
