greetings to one and all.
a new iso burn w/ centos 6.8 failed to boot on a 686 32 bit mid tower
box,
but will boot a 32 bit laptop, so i dropped back to 6.7 which did boot.
after install with centos 6.7, attempt to upgrade fails with 'repolist
0'.
all desire repo files have enable = 1.
searched thru past 4 yrs of personal archives, nothing found related to 'repolist 0'.
ran web search for 'repolist 0' and 'repolist = 0' with all hits related to repo files having 'enable = 0'.
any suggestions/ideas/clues as to solution of problem greatly
appreciated.
Hello
Never seen this but i'd try
yum repolist all
fails with 'repolist: 0'.
Lists the enabled repos?
fails with 'repolist: 0'.
Did you tried
yum clean all
Before the upgrade?
fails with 'repolist: 0'
I think this happens in RHEL if you have no active suscription, but not applicable to CentOS.
do not have rhel installed so can not test.
You can also add yum -v or -vv to debug issue more.
Eero
both fail with 'repolist: 0'.

made a file by file comparison between 2 systems of yum directories, both have same files. i did not go thru /lib and /var files.
side-note: tried to add this gmail account to thunderbird, ran into problems with gmail. next replies may be with a diff account setup using thunderbird.
jtj and Eero, i thank you again for replying. much appreciated.

thru many years, i have always tried to maintain perseverance with what ever task i i met with, but this time i admit i failed.
after many hours and attempts to get system working with yum, i decided to 'kick the bull in the balls' and reinstalled centos.
one thing i decided to do was find out why 6.8 dvd would not boot. turned out it was the graphics card, presumable needed drivers were not on 6.8 dvd.
change of graphics card allowed 6.8 dvd, install went without problem and tower box is now working.
as of yet, i have not run update due to problem that hit laptop when i ran 6.8 update.
posting problem w/subject;
users unable to log into kde after 6.8 upgrade
thanks again to jtj and Eero for replies.
