What happens, if you add --size=max

% mdadm --grow --raid-devices=5 --size=max /dev/md3 mdadm: can change at most one of size, raiddisks, and layout
"--size=max" is for use when a failed disk is replaced with a bigger one.
Ok. I haven't done raid5 - this as a disclaimer.
How about simply % mdadm --grow /dev/md3
What do you get with % mdadm --detail /dev/md3 ?
