Really, thanks all for your experiences. Bear in mind that what I want to do is (mainly) monitor network switches, and get data and charts of them. I hope I can do that.

I have a problem with check_snmp plugin, it outputs:

[1210863277] SERVICE ALERT: sw1;Uptime;UNKNOWN;SOFT;1;SNMP problem - No data received from host

I've tried to run on command-line /usr/lib64/nagios/plugins/check_snmp -H 10.1.0.3 -o .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0 -C "ppppp" -m -P 2c SNMP problem - No data received from host CMD: /usr/bin/snmpget -t 1 -r 5 -m -v 2c [authpriv] 10.1.0.3:161 .1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0

snmp packages are installed
