I used nomachine, but besides not being free it had a limit on the maximum number of sessions that could be opened at the same time. The server must be used (for non-commercial purposes) by several users.

It is “free” only for noncommercial use. It isn’t open source.
If you want to try something else, take a look at xpra (http://xpra.org/). It’s in EPEL8.
