I am able to install (in text mode) the ‘server’ option.

But I would really like to install the desktop environment on my laptop.

yum groupinstall "X Window System" "Graphical Internet" "GNOME Desktop Environment" "Office/Productivity"

(all on one line ... With the quotes as used)
