Anybody interested?
Someone built a package for RHEL4...
I was until last night when I converted the last of my NTFS partitions to ext3.
OTOH, does anyone REALLY want to use NTFS? ;^)
Not really, but some may HAVE to use NTFS. :-P
For CentOS5 - ntfs-3g and dep fuse build/install from Fedora Extras SRPMS ntfs-3g-1.0-1.fc7.src.rpm and fuse-2.6.3-2.fc6.src.rpm
However, when an attempt is made to mount one gets: FATAL: Module fuse not found.
My guess is the fuse module is not in the standard kernel. Perhaps when we see C5 centosplus?
For CentOS4 seems ntfs-3g needs fuse which needs kernel >= 2.6.14 when using the above SRPMS. Can get fuse RPMS and kmdl from ATrpms testing repo if you're feeling brave. RPMforge has a dkms-fuse also. Would still need to build ntfs-3g unless someone has one I missed.
Or use knoppix or another live distro that has ntfs-3g.
