There is also a Linux distro that will set up you pc as a sound studio. I can't remember what its called off hand and I'm at work without an in ternet connection. Go to the Distro watch web site and you should find it.
http://ccrma.stanford.edu/planetccrma/software/ is probably what you're thinking of. It looks like they provide repositories for Fedora distros, but rebuilding them for EL-based distros probably wouldn't be too hard.
