Is this a common problem?
Thoughts on a typical solution?

thnx, Manny

I have the same problem.

I asked Brian (NuOnce) about it as I am running his ISO and he has not responded with a solution yet.

The error in more detail is:

rotating pattern: /var/log/xferlog  after 1 days (4 rotations)
empty log files are rotated, old logs are removed
considering log /var/log/xferlog
  log needs rotating
rotating log /var/log/xferlog, log->rotateCount is 4
renaming /var/log/xferlog.4.gz to /var/log/xferlog.5.gz (rotatecount 4, logstart 1, i 4),
old log /var/log/xferlog.4.gz does not exist
renaming /var/log/xferlog.3.gz to /var/log/xferlog.4.gz (rotatecount 4, logstart 1, i 3),
old log /var/log/xferlog.3.gz does not exist
renaming /var/log/xferlog.2.gz to /var/log/xferlog.3.gz (rotatecount 4, logstart 1, i 2),
old log /var/log/xferlog.2.gz does not exist
renaming /var/log/xferlog.1.gz to /var/log/xferlog.2.gz (rotatecount 4, logstart 1, i 1),
old log /var/log/xferlog.1.gz does not exist
renaming /var/log/xferlog.0.gz to /var/log/xferlog.1.gz (rotatecount 4, logstart 1, i 0),
old log /var/log/xferlog.0.gz does not exist
log /var/log/xferlog.5.gz doesn't exist -- won't try to dispose of it
running prerotate script
renaming /var/log/xferlog to /var/log/xferlog.1
creating new log mode = 0644 uid = 0 gid = 0
running postrotate script
error: error running postrotate script
