Wouldn't doing this cause conflicts with existing libraries?
Why do you believe this? Do you believe that centos delivers inconstsistent libraries?
Will the many apps which depend upon the existing code-- e.g., grip, k3b, gnome-cd-- still work after installing your software?
My software delivers nackwards compatible interfaces: it enhances but it does not break things.
