Hi,
Perhaps could you use yum provides instead of search.
In a 6.x box I have it in epel and rpmforge repo.

I searched for libid3-3.8.so.3 with yum:
# yum search *libid3-3.8*
but it returns "No Matches found"
Am I not searching correctly, or does this not exist in CentOS 5.7?
