I have seen both on multiple RHES3 upgrades as well; I don't think these are CentOS problems. I have ignored them, and not had a problem yet. From what I know, the UUID is generated by "rhn_register" isn't it?

Also /etc/sysconfig/rhn/rhn-applet.rpmnew got created; the difference is that the uuid has changed from a hex key to "UNSPECIFIED".
