Jerry: As I recall, neither Upstream or CentOS suggests Upgrading from 4.x to 5.x Your results might be good, but, you might have a lot of issues after the Upgrade. Best to backup and do a clean install and then restore your data. Lanny
And if you really *must* upgrade, an anaconda upgrade (boot from CD/DVD) usually worksat least slightly better than trying a yum upgrade.
