Signature, vendor, etc... right. Pretty much why epel (so far) didn't see the need/value in the complexity/overhead of introducing repotags.
That said, my personal opinion is/was that epel *should* use them, if for no other reason so that others can't use it to support arguments of non-cooperation (too late).
