What about force re-installing (replacing) bash & coreutils rpms?? Also, Try switching to runlevel 1 & re-run the script, if it works try replacing bash_profile, /etc/bashrc and (or) ~/.bashrc from the good system
I hope this will help
Hello, Egypt.com. Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried them all but that did not solve the problem. I reinstalled the packages bash, coreutils, and file. I also replaced those 3 files above from the working station to the buggy station without any effect, even after reboot.
Still thanks for that, Daniel
