Well, we replaced the 2120S with a MegaRAID adapter and the install went fine. Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions.

In the event the 64bit install also fails, check the diagnostic screens for any clues (Ctrl-Alt-F2,Ctrl-Alt-F3)
How large is the disk array?

I take back what I said about using that Adaptec chipset. We've used the 2015s and the 2010s RAID controlers without problem.
Also try the "noapic" option with the installer.
Why i368 and not x86_64?

That is an EM64T chipset. Are you installing the i386 version of CentOS, or the x86_64 version. How much ram is in it?
