Thanks but I've just fixed it.
I just needed to tweak the suphp.conf to the correct web file location and bingo!
If I take out all my suphp from the apache conf, it trys to download the .php file rather than running it.
What's the best log file to trouble shoot this??
hmmm
rpm -q php
if php is installed, make sure you restart httpd
