Hi there I am just writing to find out if anyone else had an issue installing CentOS 5 on an inspiron notebook.

If I choose Desktop – Gnome in the distribution selection, after the “transferring image to hard disk” message it waits a very long time than dies with an error about not being able to run the transaction due to the following error:

Press enter to reboot.

I am able to install (in text mode) the ‘server’ option.

But I would really like to install the desktop environment on my laptop.
