Other than my domains nothing here is related to the caching-dns server? I need named.ca so my primary can contact root servers and localhost is normal correct?
A DNS-server which is configured to do recursion to the root servers is considered a "caching nameserver" as it looks up the information from the real servers and caches the replies locally. So everyone with a .-zone in named.conf actually runs a caching nameserver.
