Hey all,
I'm attempting to upgrade a Centos 5.9 machine to CentOS 5.10.
But when I try the yum update command I get this response:
--> Finished Dependency Resolution python26-PyYAML-3.08-5.el5.x86_64 from installed has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: libyaml-0.so.1()(64bit) is needed by package python26-PyYAML-3.08-5.el5.x86_64 (installed) --> Running transaction check ---> Package kernel.x86_64 0:2.6.18-164.15.1.el5.centos.plus set to be erased ---> Package kernel.x86_64 0:2.6.18-194.11.4.el5 set to be erased ---> Package kernel.x86_64 0:2.6.18-238.9.1.el5 set to be erased ---> Package kernel-devel.x86_64 0:2.6.18-308.4.1.el5 set to be erased --> Processing Dependency: libyaml-0.so.1()(64bit) for package: python26-PyYAML --> Finished Dependency Resolution python26-PyYAML-3.08-5.el5.x86_64 from installed has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: libyaml-0.so.1()(64bit) is needed by package python26-PyYAML-3.08-5.el5.x86_64 (installed) Error: Missing Dependency: libyaml-0.so.1()(64bit) is needed by package python26-PyYAML-3.08-5.el5.x86_64 (installed) You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem You could try running: package-cleanup --problems package-cleanup --dupes rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
The system claims that it can't find libyaml-0.so.1, however I can easily locate it:
[root@ops:~] #locate libyaml-0.so.1 /usr/lib64/libyaml-0.so.1 /usr/lib64/libyaml-0.so.1.1.0
What does rpm say? 'rpm -q --whatprovides /usr/lib64/libyaml-0.so.1'
Can someone please point me in the right direction for solving these problems?
These are not CentOS packages (python26-PyYAML and libyaml). I would suggest you ask on the appropriate list for whichever repository these packages were installed from (rpm -qi should tell you).
Thanks Tim
