I'm not a big fan of using hdparm for real benchmarking or comparing things but for the sake of completeness.

/dev/sde: Timing cached reads: 24004 MB in 2.00 seconds = 12025.18 MB/sec Timing buffered disk reads: 982 MB in 3.00 seconds = 326.98 MB/sec
