You should get them to generate md5 checksums of the files so you can check them on your end.

The rpms do not show up right, they record as data rather than rpm or tar or zip or whatever. I am not certain if it's pure-ftpd corrupting these files, the patches showed up empty and i was assured everything was working on the other end, or if the user uploaded binary files in ascii.
