If i want to store the .gz files in date or time format???? what configurations
are required?

Thanks for your help, BSD and CentOs both are different, cenTos is a redhat
while BSD is totally debian, also commands vary.

If BSD works like Centos, you could use:
gunzip -c filename.1.gz|less
