Forgot to mention that if I use the rescue mode CD, partitions are being recognized and I can do a "chroot /mnt/sysimage". However, no idea where to go from there.

The server was working fine. Then a power outage. checked the board,disk,ram,etc. All fine. Now when I try to boot the server does not even reach GRUB (no splash, no menu).
I read a post about maybe the MBR got damaged (no fix posted) and another post about missing SCSI drivers not being loaded before kernel boot.
Suggestions?
