* CDs and DVDs do not automatically mount when you are logged in as root. As such, you will need to run the following command to mount a CD or DVD to /media: mount /dev/cdrom /media
The problem is not only when logged in as root. I did that (su - and then: mount /dev/cdrom /media) and I was able to install the Package I wanted. My question remains, what configuration file do I need to change, to get automount to work correctly on that box? (The same DVD was used to install CentOS 5.0 on my box and my daughters box). I use GNOME on both boxes. Works perfectly on my box. TIA, Lanny
