On the system I'm testing with the CD-Rom drive is IDE but the softlink at /dev/cdrom points to the scsi device and that's not working with the automounter for some reason. Each time I reinstall I have to delete the soft link and recreate it pointing at /dev/hda instead.

Nope, not yet. I was planning on installing the beta this weekend, I'll have more information then.
