I disagree on slower/older hardware I'd be more inclinded to use dovecot due to it's extreme indexing and caching of message parts, logins, etc. (which it all 100% tunable though it's simple conf file)
Side note: Really if your looking for a drop in solution that simple to setup, maintain, uses 100% virutal users, and has countless & simple ways to addon anti-virus,spam, etc. I highly recommend XMail as the SMTP server.

You might also want to change Cyrus-imapd to something simpler, like wu-imapd, since it should take less resources from the machine. Then again, I have very little experience with cyrus, since I either use wu or courrier.
Cyrus needs less resources than wu-imapd. Each time you open mailbox, wu-imapd needs to read it from beggining to the end from the disk, and alocate possibly large chunks of memory as long as you keep connection open. Cyrus will simply consult its internal database. Huge difference in speed and load on machine. So, the slower/older your hardware is, the more inclined you should be to run cyrus. _______________________________________________ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
