Hey Guys,
I am looking to put together a set of guidelines for posting on the CentOS Mailing Lists. The aim being that we come up with a framework that is then enforceable by a moderator, should the need arise.
Blanket user / thread moderation is something that I dont really want to enforce here - but might be a necessary evil, over a short period of time. End of the day, we are all educated sensible people - it should not be too much to expect adherence to a reasonable set of guidelines.
We also need contributions from the community to help on this effort, the developers are already very stretched, and as has already been pointed out - there are going to be other people, better qualified to handle this role of moderator. If you are such a person - please get in touch with me off-list, the sooner the better.
- Don't be excessively annoying.
- Don't be too easily annoyed.
- Be generous with techical details that help the poster get the desired results.
4. Use an accurate subject and be generous with technical details when asking for help.
