They are dirt cheap on ebay, from Hong Kong with free shipping. I would go all the way and max it out.
I would also recommend that you go for a light weight DM such as XFCE which you can install from EPEL, this will help a fair bit on that older hardware with the performance as opposed to gnome 3.
