Deps. on what kind of hardware you have. CentOS 5.0 CD installer can not see my SATA harddisk. So I use CentOS 5.1 CD. If you don't have the same problem I had, you can do both.

If you already have the 5.0 cdroms then it is probably best to do a minimal install with 5.0 then upgrade to 5.1 and then use yum to install the actual stuff you need.
