Googling gave me http://linuxterminal.org/issue-with-rts5229-pci-express-card-reader/; last reply by François suggests to download the Realtek 5229 driver, edit the Makefile and rtsx.c and compile. And it works as stated.
It would be handy if this module could be incorporated with epel. But I can't find the right way to make such a request. (shame on me)
