I think I'd like to
- stop the RAID
- pull a drive
- put in a large drive, and run parted, and mkfs
- pull the large drive
- replace the RAID drive
- fire up the RAID.
So, can I do it in that order? Do I need to fail something?
If you really just want to test if it can use 2Tb disks, unplug all disks, plug in 4Tb disk, boot off liveCD, tinker.
When done, reverse.
