CentOS 3.7 on its way to mirrors

We have just started the process of pushing CentOS 3.7 for all architectures out to mirrors. This will take an additional 15GB approx until 3.6 is removed, which will happen once 3.7 is announced and the 3/ symlink is changed. I was looking for assisants in building a mirror

Dear all, I have been following the HowTo instructions for Mirroring, located at http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=22 My question is: How long does it take to do the initial rsync? I have ran the command rsync -aqzH --delete msync.centos.org::CentOS . twice and it seems to have timed out, obtaining more data at each run. I then have ran the same command but with --no-blocking-io in order to prevent it from timing out. Its been running for well over 16 hrs. Would anyone know what I have done wrong? Sorting the mirrors outside the US by country though might be a good idea. In my opinion a tier 1 mirror wouldn't be bandwidth constrained and available to anyone -paul hall IT(a)CSUMB.EDU / Network Operations paul(a)csumb.edu

New CentOS mirror

Hi! AFAIK there is no public mirror in Hungary, so I set one up on my server. It is accessible via FTP only, more follows when I have some time to do the setup. Please register it as a public CentOS mirror. Just to tell that there now is a full mirror of Centos at ftp://klid.dk/centos I see that klid.dk is already listed for http, I would prefer that it be listed as: http://klid.dk/ftp/centos We have severe bandwidth restrictions on foreign traffic but our domestic bandwidth is 100 Mbit/s. Hello, If you keep on trying timeout, try choosing another RSYNC server. The mirror list (http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=13) shows which server can be rsync'ed as well. Find a rsync server which is near you can save a significant time of initial sync.
