Organisation name: WeePee telecom (http://www.weepeetelecom.eu)

Hi all:
I've been following the whole DVD iso access questions and such for a
while, and while talking to some people on #centos-mirror during the
5.5 push, some thoughts occurred to me.
Presently, it is my understanding that there are two different repos
maintained: ones with dvd images, and ones without. This seems
needlessly painful and wasteful of the time and resources of our
dedicated Centos volunteer administrators. I understand at least some
of the reasons it exists: there are some mirrors that don't have the
space for the DVDs or for other reasons wish not to carry them.
However, times are changing, and I think that many, if not most,
centos mirror operators would prefer to carry the DVD isos. In fact,
I'd almost expect future major releases of CentOS (6+) to distribute
DVD isos instead of the CD disk 1 of xx isos.
So, I propose that the dvd-less mirror system is eliminated (all msync
mirrors carry DVDs). No special ACLs either... Its easy to add a
--exclude "*DVD*" to the rsync line for those that wish to not carry
the DVDs. I also think that with sufficient announcement and time
(say 1-3 months), this shouldn't be an issue. My understanding is
that officially its required for anyone who operates a CentOS mirror
to be subscribed to this list, and thus they should receive the
announcement. In addition, a note can be added to the msync MOTD
conveying this. If others have problems, I think the CentOS team
would have done their due diligence; the fault would rest with those
not paying attention to lists. After all, all things change and
evolve, and I think this is a natural evolution for the CentOS mirror
team.

Hi there,
I've checked from a few datacenters to make sure it wasn't any
particular location, but mirrors.bluehost.com appears to be limited to
10KB/s. Yum's "fastest-mirrors" keeps selecting this for a handful of
servers making yum very slow. The issue has been present for at last
the past several days. I imagine I'm not the only one with this
issue?
They don't show up in the main mirror list, but they show up in 'ok'
status on the mirror status page.

Syncing 4 times daily
Hello, everybody!
A CentOS mirror in Latvia has been up for some time. The URL is
http://centos.linux.edu.lv. It's located at the University of Latvia.
Hardware is a ProLiant server with a total of 4TB RAID groups, network
connections: 1Gb/s to Latvian ISPs, 100Mb/s international. It's
synchonizing 4 times a day from the eu-msync.centos.org::CentOS.
Please add this mirror to the list of mirrors for Latvia and to the yum
mirrorlist (if it's not the same).
For now I use the baseurl in /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo to update
my CentOS-es from the local mirror. It would be great if the automatic
(and default) mirrorlist would provide Latvian systems with the local
mirror, too.
Thanks!

Hello,
I wanted to update the Steadfast Networks mirror listing to indicate
that we are now offering CentOS content via FTP in addition to HTTP.
ftp://mirror.steadfast.net/centos/
The content mirrored is the same.
Please let me know if you need further information.

I'm send this mail again, as I didn't get any answer, and I don't see the
mirror in your lists.

Hi
Today, I found few temp iso image file on your master mirror , one of them is:
4.8/isos/ia64/.~tmp~/.centos-4.7-ia64-bin3of4.iso.n0JFh6
I was sync from eu.rsync.centos.org
Please check the issue. This type of temp file normally spend
bandwidth without giving nothing...
