New CentOS mirror in China

Hi, I'm from Jiangnan University, China. Now we have a new CentOS mirror: HTTP: http://mirrors.jiangnan.edu.cn/centos/ FTP: ftp://mirrors.jiangnan.edu.cn/centos/ So, we don't have a RSYNC service yet. We rsync the sources from us-msync.centos.org every 1 hour. The server is located in Wuxi (city), Jiangsu (province), China. And our bandwidth limit is 10M. The organizer name is Jiangnan University, and link is http://www.jiangnan.edu.cn/. Dedicated host for seeding torrents

I can help seed CentOS torrents (in London). About half a gigabit spare :) I'm using "transmission-daemon" over IPv4 and IPv6, it's currently got over 400 TCP connections open, with a ratio of over 1000 for both CentOS-5.5-x86_64-bin-DVD and CentOS-5.5-i386-bin-DVD. HTH Matt

Torrent Files

I added all of the .torrent files from the CentOS tree to my torrent server and have discovered that the following torrents fail with "Requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker." CentOS-4.3-i386-srcDVD.torrent CentOS-4.3-i386-src1to4.torrent Also the following torrents don't appear to have any seeders: centos-4.7-s390-bindvd.torrent centos-3.8-ia64-bin1to3.torrent centos-3.8-s390x-bindvd.torrent centos-3.8-ia64-bindvd.torrent centos-4.3-alpha-bin1to4.torrent CentOS-3.9-srcDVD.torrent centos-3.8-s390-bindvd.torrent centos-4.3-alpha-bindvd.torrent centos-4.7-ia64-bin1to4.torrent centos-4.3-alpha-src.torrent With the exception of the last one "centos-4.3-alpha-src.torrent" which has a single seeder. If the consensus is that these are old and no longer desired to be seeded, then shouldn't we remove the .torrent files from the tree to prevent user frustration? Adam

Personally, I think the mirror infrastructure in place is more than sufficient for releases and there's no need to complicate things with seeding torrents (full or partial) before the official release on the mirrors. Do people have problems with slow downloads just after a centos release? I can say our mirrors have always had plenty of bandwidth to spare during a centos release. -Jeff

Request For Mirroring

We have mirrored CentOS. ALL files have been mirrored: DVD and all architectures. Mirror can be accessed via HTTP and ftp: http://mirror.openmirror.ir/centos ftp://mirror.openmirror.ir/centos rsync is also provided: rsync://rsync.openmirror.ir/centos cron job is updating repository 4 times a day. We have about 2 TB of bandwidth and port is 100Mbps. Thank you very much.

Syncing from Msync

We currently host a mirror that carries DVD's. (http://mirror.flhsi.com/centos) We are syncing from mirror.cogentco.com as they are also a peer of ours. Is there any way we can get dvd msync access so we can sync from the top like most of the other tier1's?

Green Mountain Access is now carrying the DVD isos, thanks to mirror.cogentco.com. We will also be setting up automatic torrents feeds of all the isos, which we will be able to seed at 1Gb. Adam

Intermittent rsync issues with 69.72.242.210
