New mirror ready to be listed.

Ok we have the centos mirror up and running. All of the versions are in there including the dvds. You can see it here at http://mirror.bluethundercomputers.net/centos It is now ready to be listed. Stale Mirror: centoso4: 69.167.139.9

FYI: The mirror centoso4 at IP 69.167.139.9 is old. The time stamp on that machine is "29-Jan-2011 10:00", and when my rsync hits that server it keeps deleting the recent updates. Adam

Ok I have the mirror doing what is supposed to now. I will give it a few days and I can check it. If all goes well we can list it. I found the script to set it up for it to work right. It will update every 6 hours. If all works well I will let you know how it gets set up in cpanel. Now I just have to get the ftp part to work. Thank you everyone who help me the past few days. Hi Ralph Angenendt, I am not sure if you were asking me a question when you had asked if my mirror should be attributed to Atwab Networks. The answer is yes. centos.mirrors.atwab.net is provided by Atwab Networks. Also just an update, the cron job is all set and running. Mirror not showing up list of suggestions

Hello, Our team operates the CentOS mirror at http://mirror-cybernet.lums.edu.pk/pub/centos/ located in Pakistan. When we go through http://mirror.centos.org/ to try to download CentOS 5.5 ISOs from Pakistan we get to the page http://isoredirect.centos.org/centos/5.5/isos/i386/ which lists mirrors where the ISOs are available in nearby countries but does not show own mirror in Pakistan. The following screenshot of a browser window illustrates this; the client's public IP when this screenshot was taken was 203.81.210.4 (as retrieved using whatismyip.com) Has our mirror been listed correctly? Or does this point to a configuration issue on our side? Thanks in advance for your help. LUMS Mirror Team

Matt Ok here is the script and I will tell you what I did. The script here: #!/bin/bash NAME='centos' LOCKFILE='/tmp/centos.lock' RSYNC='rsync://mirror.team-cymru.org/CentOS' if [ -f $LOCKFILE ] then echo "Lock file exisis" && exit 1 else echo "Making Lock File" && date > $LOCKFILE fi rsync -vaHh --stats --progress --numeric-ids --delete --delete-after --delay-updates $RSYNC /home/bluethun/public_html/mirror/$NAME /bin/rm -rf $LOCKFILE As you can see I filled the info in and uploaded it to the usr directory as centos.sh. I then set a cron for it to go every 6 hours. I dont see anything happening. I was wondering if I missed something. Matt Selinux is disabled. Not sure what to put in the command line exactly to test rsync. I never did this before so I am lost on the whole thing. I would have to test this in the command line to see it. If you can give me the command to put in and I will see if has any errors. its likely because you are using cpanel to do this and its being a stickler for permissions and quota's, have you made sure the account you are running it under has a large enough quota > approx 175GB? also have you made sure you have amended the scripts so that it downloads into appropriate paths? for anonymous ftp on cpanel, you have to have files in the public_ftp folder and have anonymous ftp enabled within whm, however public_ftp wont serve out on http, so you will probably need to symlink your public_html folder to public_ftp for that to work or duplicate the whole mirror which would be a waste of resources and hd space i cant say i would recommend mirroring from a cpanel server but its not impossible
