Good day folks.
We would like to be a CentOS mirror and have finished our initial rsync of
CentOS. We are offering HTTP and FTP downloads and will sync 3 times
daily. Our mirror server's connection is 26 Mbps.
Our URLs are:
http://mirror.newnanutilities.org/pub/centos/ftp://mirror.newnanutilities.org/pub/centos/
We are located 30 miles from Atlanta, GA., and are a municipal utilitywho
provides electric, water, wastewater, cable TV, and broadband Internet.

Greetings!
I've just started preparing our mirror server to become publicly listed.
At the moment we're only doing HTTP access, and this is an experimental
setup, so we have not imposed a specific bandwidth cap yet. The
connection is multi-homed over our "value network" which includes PCCW,
nLayer, TeliaSonera, and local peering. We're basically looking to
garner usage levels and determine what level of service we are going to
ultimately want to provide.
We're doing the sync 4 times per day as of now. We're mirroring ONLY
x86_64 and i386 of CentOS 3 and 4. We'll mirror 5 when it becomes
available.
I'm interested in looking at mirroring the DVD ISOs, but I'm not sure
where I should sync them from.
The mirror is at http://mirror.steadfast.net/centos/
The host is Steadfast Networks (http://steadfast.net) located in
Chicago, IL, USA
Let me know what we should do next and we'll be happy to get started
running a public mirror.

mirror requests please let me know.
Thanks for you patience!

New Beijing Mirror, we are on both CNCBig, CNCSmall, China Telecom,
Great Wall, Keji Wang and Jiao Yu Wang Networks. Though those of us
in China know how routing really works here...cough, cough...
I may add an IP alias via our routers in HK for south China users and
HK users to come in up on the main south china backbone at a later
date - but I need to wait for our CISCO engineer to come back from
holidays as I suck at IOS.
Anyway.

Hello Folks, I've got a couple of updates for our mirror.
Effective Feb. 1 2007, we will be moving our public CentOS mirror to the
versaweb.com domain rather than the versaweb.net domain where it
currently resides - the mirror location will now be
mirrors.versaweb.com/centos/ - please update the link for the mirror,
and also the link to our main site, http://www.versaweb.com
Also, our mirror should be listed as a tier-1 mirror, since our network
now has multi-gigabit capacity.
Finally, we relocated our main POP to Las Vegas, NV about a year ago.
I've sent several requests to update the location reported in your
system to Nevada, since that is where the mirror server now resides, but
it doesn't look like it was ever changed. Please update your list to
reflect that our mirror is in NV not in CA.
Thanks,
Rob Tyree

Is there a policy on specifically what you have to mirror in order to be including in the mirrors list on the website? We would like to mirror only the latest release but would like to be used as a public mirror.
What is the process after mirroring the latest distribution to get added to the mirrors list?

Enjoy and Merry Christmas all.
Hi,
We are registered in the CentOS Public Mirror List (Universidad Tecnica
Federico Santa Maria), but it seems like there is one service missing: we
also provide download via rsync:
rsync://ftp.inf.utfsm.cl::pub/Linux/CentOS
We also recently add dvd isos:
http://ftp.inf.utfsm.cl/pub/Linux/centos/4/isos-dvd/
Additionally we have increased our bandwidth, so you might run some tests to
probe it ;)
Please add missing data to the Public Mirror site
http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=13
Thanks,

hi,
There is a directory with a permission problem on the mirror sites. Whenever I rsync my own mirror, I get the following error:
receiving file list ... rsync: opendir "/3.8/isos/ia64/.~tmp~" (in CentOS) failed: Permission denied (13)
done
I 've already contacted my upstream mirror, but they say that the file permissions are read from the CentOS file repository.
Many thanks and a very happy new year ;)
