Hey, My mirror currently uses about 66GB of space and 10 Mbps bandwidth (95th). Hi, My name is Simon Boulet, I am System Administrator and Responsible of the Technological Development for iWeb.ca, one of the biggest Web hosting provider in Canada. iWeb has been using open source softwares since the beginning in 1996. Now 2006 we host over 2000 servers, with 70% running different flavors of Linux. iWeb currently operates a redundant 4Gbps network peering with Teleglobe, Cogent, Level3/Videotron and Peer1 in Montreal and Toronto, CANADA. We are interested in becoming an official CentOS mirror. We haven't fixed the amount of bandwidth we can offer, but it will be around 100Mbps. Available storage will most likely be near 1TB. inconsistencies between CentOS I, CentOS J and CentOS R

Hi! We are syncing our mirrors from msync.centos.org, which seems to be pointing to at least three different machines ("I", "J" and "R"). Unfortunately all of them offer different data. Attached, you can find a time-stamped log of test-syncs I did to figure out what is going wrong. I assume this behaviour is not really wanted, is it? Guido S. Only .torrents to mirrors?

Okay, I'm confused. The CentOS mirror on mirrors.kernel.org is missing at least all the DVD isos, and all there is there is a .torrent file. We have tons of disk space and bandwidth, and denying users the ability to use the mirror network for these probably hurts more than it helps (we are consistently faster than Bittorrent during Fedora Core releases, for example, and that is an extremely popular fileset during peak traffic.) Can these be re-enabled, at least for the mirror sites who wants to carry them? -hpa

Greetings, I've been running an unofficial Centos mirror for a couple years now.. but since it wasn't a full mirror I didn't announce it outside the university I am at. After a revamp of space on some servers I found myself in a position to do a full and proper mirror. Sounded like a great plan. I now have a full Centos mirror available to the world via HTTP and FTP. The URLs for this are: http://dds.gina.alaska.edu/public/mirrors/centos/ ftp://dds.gina.alaska.edu/mirrors/centos/ The rsync options used: ROPTS="-avqzH --delete" MIRROR="us-msync.centos.org::CentOS" Mirror is sync'ed twice a day at 3 AM and 3 PM Alaska time. I am getteina a lot of errors like: rsync: delete_file: unlink "/home/ftp/centos/3.7/os/s390/RedHat/RPMS/ypserv-2.8-13.s390.rpm" failed: Permission denied (13) rsync: delete_file: unlink "/home/ftp/centos/3.7/os/s390/RedHat/RPMS/ypbind-1.12-5.21.6.s390.rpm" failed: Permission denied (13) rsync: delete_file: unlink "/home/ftp/centos/3.7/os/s390/RedHat/RPMS/xscreensaver-4.10-15.s390.rpm" failed: Permission denied (13) r This is because the following dirs seem to have bad file permissions: dr-xr-xr-x 2 users 65536 mar 26 10:49 /home/ftp/centos/3.7/os/s390/RedHat/RPMS dr-xr-xr-x 2 users 57344 mar 25 21:08 /home/ftp/centos/3.7/os/s390x/RedHat/RPM ie they have perms 555 instead of 755. Bad mirror?

Hey all, Is the LBL Berkley mirror working properly? I use altruistic.lbl.gov::mirrors/centos/ to rsync my mirror, and I've noticed that my mirror hasn't received any new updates in almost two weeks now. Rsync would give a file error when trying to use that mirror. Something about it being unable to open the mirror. I just switched my rsync command with the Stanford mirror, and it is downloading several gigs of data to my server. Could you verify that the LBL Berkley mirror is working properly? We have just started the process of pushing CentOS 3.7 for all architectures out to mirrors. This will take an additional 15GB approx until 3.6 is removed, which will happen once 3.7 is announced and the 3/ symlink is changed. Dear all, I have been following the HowTo instructions for Mirroring, located at http://www.centos.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=22 My question is: How long does it take to do the initial rsync? I have ran the command rsync -aqzH --delete msync.centos.org::CentOS . twice and it seems to have timed out, obtaining more data at each run. I then have ran the same command but with --no-blocking-io in order to prevent it from timing out. Its been running for well over 16 hrs. Would anyone know what I have done wrong?
