Dear CentOS Team : We would like to become the public mirror , here is what we have done and the info as the following : 1) Subscribe the mirror mailing list 2) Mirror hostname centos.acmegrp.com using HTTP only 3) Rsync with msync.centos.org 2 times per day and setup in cronjob already 4) initial sync is completed 5) We are in Hong Kong / ASIA 6) 100MB Upstream and 100MB Downstream in share pool 7) Sponsoring organization - ACME Network Limited , www.acmegrp.com 8) Contact e-mail samuel(a)acmegrp.com I don't know I am send to the right E-mail address or not , if not , please help forward to the right department . Problems with mirror.centos.org / 91.201.202.12

Hi, I'm having frequent problems with one of the servers handling mirror.centos.org requests. The problematic server's IP address is 91.201.202.12. Example below: --- cut here --- [root@seepra ~]# yum update Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: mirror.nsc.liu.se * epel: www.nic.funet.fi * extras: mirror.nsc.liu.se * updates: mirror.nsc.liu.se http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/cr/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 7 - "couldn't connect to host" Trying other mirror. Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update [root@seepra ~]# telnet mirror.centos.org 80 Trying 91.201.202.12... telnet: connect to address 91.201.202.12: Connection timed out --- cut here --- This certainly isn't the first time that I'm seeing this particular server having some problems. I understand that this is likely a donated server (which is of course much appreciated), but I'm afraid that server isn't quite capable of handling all the tasks it should be doing. Could something be done regarding that server? Thanks in advance.

Hello Please remove mirror.alva.ge and it's ip's (93.188.8.140-93.188.8.146) from mirroring list and rsync ACL's - we are shutting down our services. I am preparing new infrastructure for mirroring - I will update you as soon as I will finish it. Thanks Best regards, George Machitidze

Maintenance shutdown of mirrors.ucr.ac.cr

Hi, This weekend, the main Data Center at University of Costa Rica will be in a scheduled outage due to electrical maintenance, and they are requesting all SysAdmins to shutdown their servers.
