We have reached more than 1,000 concurrent connections to our mirror - users download dvd-images. It's loaded our processors by 90%, as a result, we expect short-term failures in the mirror in the next few days, if the load grows. URl timeout

Dear All, I am using Centos 4.7, i have an issue when i run yum update, the URL times-out even when i browse it on firefox #yum update php Setting up Update Process Setting up repositories http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/updates/i386/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 12] Timeout: <urlopen error timed out> Trying other mirror. Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: update failure: repodata/repomd.xml from update: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try. Error: failure: repodata/repomd.xml from update: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try. i wanted to upgrade php to 5.x do you have any advice please. Thank you

Stale Mirror (centosq4)

CentOS-6 CDs decision needs some stats

hi guys, For CentOS-6 we are thinking of dropping the CD isos from the main distro. So there will only be an os/ and isos/ will have the DVD and netinstall CD only. However, in order to make that decision we would love to get some stats from mirror operators about download frequency of CD isos and DVD isos. Would it be possible to get something like that ? Just numbers posted to this list are fine. If we can get them split for CentOS-4 and CentOS-5, even better. Thanks - KB

Sigh, AWstats... That's not the first time I've suspected its data is incorrect. My only guess is that its counting literal hits. Not complete downloads. The server only has 100Mb/s dedicated to it, So it would be impossible to move that much.
