Hello, Our mirror server has had it's hardware replaced. The yum errors that people were experiencing should now be resolved. We would like to be put back into the mirror rotation again. Thank you.

Hello. Some monthes ago i made new CentOs mirror and now i want to add my mirror to official list. Mirror locates in Russia, Moscow and have 1Gb link to internet. Hi all, Now centosb3 (one of the pdns node for msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd) seems to be having a minor problem. http://centosb3.centos.org/timestamp.txt now (Fri May 22 13:58:51 UTC 2009) shows Tue May 19 20:30:01 UTC 2009 As a result, the status of CentOS mirrors http://mirror-status.centos.org/ shows that there are several (approximately ten) nodes which show of 2.7 days delay. Hi Tru, and CentOS master mirror server Admin. Our user notified that the contents of Centos 4 at our ftp server ftp.riken.jp is flip-flopping between new one and old one in these few days. We already noticed that the time stamp was flip-flopping before in this Mailing list as: On 09.5.5 0:13 PM (UT+9) [CentOS-mirror] flip-flopping timestamp by pulling CentOS [Re: Wrong timestamp by pulling CentOS-incdvd On 09.4.21 11:28 PM (UT+9) [CentOS-mirror] Wrong timestamp by pulling CentOS-incdvd But It was not only the time stamp, but also all the contents at msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd seems to be flip flopping till now. Could you please look into and fix this problem ? We are now now mirroring using the script below, since we cannot believe the time stamp at msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd. rsync -avzH --delete --exclude=timestamp.txt --exclude=TIME --exclude=".~tmp~/" msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd /ftp/Linux/centos date -u > /ftp/Linux/centos/timestamp.txt date +%s > /ftp/Linux/centos/TIME For example, same file was deleted and created and deleted and created in our rsync log to msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd. (We are rsyncing to msync.centos.org::CentOS-incdvd every 4 hours if the previous rsync process does not exit) A part of the rsync log is shown below. I have a large amount of BW to spare, but HD space is premium for me. Rather than wasting resources and downloading the entire mirror like it suggest, I figure it's better to ask here. So, how much space would be required to mirror the entire setup? I may also look at mirroring just the 5.X series out of necessity. Is that allowed as a public mirror? Something I posted on the blog, and I'd appreciate comments from this list about: -------------------------------------------------- Has anyone given though to doing mirror updates via a 'push' rather than a 'pull' mechanism ? Basically, when new packages are available the machines that get updates would do a rsync to the machines down the order, pushing the updates out. It would allow us to get more updates, out faster and also not need to waste cpu and i/o on repeated rsyncs that dont need to be run. Yes, we could/would/should still leave in place some mechanism for people to setup new mirrors and also to do pull based rsync's as and when they need. Just something to think about at the moment, and comments would be very welcome. - KB
