Hi, Over the next 24 - 48 hrs people will start seeing the 5.3 tree going out to the mirrors. A request to all mirror admins: please ensure that the 5.3 tree is not visible to the public over http/rsync/ftp till the release is announced. Depending on how long it takes to get a reasonable number of machines with the complete 5.3 tree, were looking at a release announcement on the 29th March Morning UTC. The usual bit-flipping will be done from this end. - KB

New Mirror

Greetings, I'm new to the list. Joined after reading the public mirror guidelines. Just sync'd ourselves a mirror at: http://mirror.tailormadeservers.com/ Server is on a 100Mbps dedicated link, running lighttpd. Only http for now. I'll have ftp and rsync added later this afternoon. It's sync'ing 4 times a day (every 6 hours). JoseQ TMS

vault mirror missing 4.6 release

A coworker of mine is trying to get CentOS 4.6 media from vault.centos.org and it seems at least 65.110.36.70 is missing the 4.6 directory. Greetings We need to do some maintenance on our nfs server at mirror.icpl.org. We are having drive timouts in the array. It will be rebooted a couple of times during the day. Also I see it listed on Tier 1 (OC3 or faster) and it's only on a 5MB connection so it's faster than a T1 but not OC3. Thanks -Jay

Rob, Thanks again for the mirror. I'm in the process of running the initial rsync right now and I am getting excellent speeds. You mentioned that you were using wget to mirror from debuginfo.centos.org. I recently learned that they do offer rsync but you must specify debuginfo.centos.org::centos-debuginfo. Maybe this will help you automate the mirroring process. I was also wondering how often you update your mirror against debuginfo.centos.org. Dave
