New Irish Mirror

Hi there, We're considering a new public Mirror in .ie as I can see from the mirror list there is only 1, HEAnet which had a hiccup last week. So it makes sense to have at least 1 other in Ireland. Our mirror will be in Dublin. A few questions if I may? 1) What's the total mirror size? Are there any growth graphs over the past 36 months or similar? 2) What amounts of bandwidth do mirrors normally consume?, 10,20,30-100mbit/s etc? 3) Are there scripts for managing the CentOS distribution other than a simple rsync cronjob? 4) How often should we update it? 5) Are there any gotchas we should be aware of? Good day, FedoraMD.org - is a project to promote open source in Moldova. We already have Fedora, EPEL, and some 3rd party repositories mirrored. Now we started mirroring CentOS. centos.zanker.org now full mirror

Hi, following a change to new hardware, centos.zanker.org is now a full mirror - all releases, all architectures. I won't be doing direct DVD downloads just yet, but all CD isos are mirrored. Would you please update your records/scripts to reflect this? Thanks in advance, Mike

New Mirror Setup Questions

I've setup a new mirror (almost finished) but I have a few questions. I am running the first sync as a single command right now, sync'ed weekly until I get a few questions answered. Currently, my command is: rsync -aqzH --delete --delay-updates us-msync.centos.org::CentOS /var/ www/centos I plan on just allowing http for now, and I'm connected via multi- homed DS3's so bandwidth is not a HUGE problem. I am not limited but might have to if the link becomes very heavily used. My questions are: If I am to sync 2-4 times a day, how do I setup lock files in a script? Right now i'm just using a single command (listed above). I assume you will most likely tell me to connect to a Tier 1 server to sync from instead of a master server right? Secondly, if I were to say drop down to only version 5, what is the best way to do that as well? Thanks, Josh

The Computer Center of the University of Crete in Greece, has setup a new CentOS mirror. It can be accessed through http and ftp at the following urls: http://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/CentOS/ ftp://ftp.cc.uoc.gr/CentOS/ All architectures and releases are currently being mirrored twice a day.
