FTP mirrors & SIZE command

Hello, The mirror monitoring script has been recently updated to check FTP mirrors and to add them in isoredirect.centos.org when they are up to date. It should be usable too for HTTP mirrors who redirects to FTP mirrors. Unfortunately, a few FTP mirrors refuse the "SIZE" FTP command and, as the script can not check the ISOs file, we are unable to list them (well unless someone has a nice workaround to get the file size, and no, downloading it is not what I am calling "nice"). Is there any reason why somes servers refuse this command ? (it may be for good/bad reason, it is not my point, I am just wondering) François

We plan to conduct periodic inspections of electrical facilities in our institute. The time for the maintenance are October 22, 09:00 - 17:30 JST. Because of this conduct, it will be outage. So server will be shutdown around 8:00. You can not access our server all that time. We plan to start our server around 21:00.

I would like to formally welcome Matthew Martz to the CentOS team, he has volunteered to take on the role of Mirror Administrator, so hopefully things will get done quicker now we have a dedicated person and I would like to express all of our thanks to Matthew for stepping in to this role. I have updated the mirror database to include your http URL and to include version 3 + 4 x86_64 arches. I have also verified your that your mirror is listed as Tier 1. Mirror list URL changes

Hi, due to space requirements I moved the CentOS tree to another directory. Can change the URLs on your Mirror-list page? The OLD URLs (Italy - Daniele Carbonetti) are: http://www.dcl-arch.it/pub/1/CentOS/ for HTTP access ftp://ftp.dcl-arch.it/pub/1/CentOS/ for FTP access The NEW URLs are: http://www.dcl-arch.it/pub/CentOS/ for HTTP access ftp://ftp.dcl-arch.it/pub/CentOS/ for FTP access The Rsync URL remains unchanged. Another question: I see some of the mirror are providing DVD images too. How can I mirror these too (rsync URL I should to use to sync them)? Thanks a lot! Building mirror- how much space?
