Could anyone help me with that receiving file list ... pre-xfer exec returned failure (256) rsync error: requested action not supported (code 4) at clientserver.c(869) [sender=3.0.6] rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer (104) rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(760) [Receiver=3.0.7] any idea how to fix it ?

Hello, We have set up new mirror: bay.uchicago.edu Supports: http, ftp, rsync Allows direct DVD download URLs: http://bay.uchicago.edu/centos/ ftp://bay.uchicago.edu/centos/ rsync://bay.uchicago.edu/centos/ mirror synchronizes 4 times a day (CDT: 2:33 8:33 14:33 20:33) Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA Bandwidth: about 1 Gbps Organization: University of Chicago, Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics Mirror provides full collection of CentOS files, including direct download of DVD images. I also have got questions: 1. which mirror will you prefer me to sync to. At the moment I do: rsync [bunch of options] us-msync.centos.org::CentOS 2. Hey, Is anyone else seeing a large increase in bandwidth today compared to previous releases? I barely remember a bump last time a new CentOS release came out and today I'm about 650 gigs over a good day for my mirror. Jeff

Problems with mirror.centos.org / 91.201.202.12

Hi, I'm having frequent problems with one of the servers handling mirror.centos.org requests. The problematic server's IP address is 91.201.202.12. Example below: --- cut here --- [root@seepra ~]# yum update Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: mirror.nsc.liu.se * epel: www.nic.funet.fi * extras: mirror.nsc.liu.se * updates: mirror.nsc.liu.se http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/cr/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 7 - "couldn't connect to host" Trying other mirror. Setting up Update Process No Packages marked for Update [root@seepra ~]# telnet mirror.centos.org 80 Trying 91.201.202.12... telnet: connect to address 91.201.202.12: Connection timed out --- cut here --- This certainly isn't the first time that I'm seeing this particular server having some problems. I understand that this is likely a donated server (which is of course much appreciated), but I'm afraid that server isn't quite capable of handling all the tasks it should be doing.
