Hi Fabian,
Are there any IPv6 enabled msync nodes within Australia?
Using IPv4, I hit a local node to Sydney (AS63956 - coloau.com.au):
[root@mirror01 ~]# mtr -rwc 5 -n -4 msync.centos.org Start: Wed May 25 09:32:39 2016 HOST: mirror01.digitalpacific.com.au Loss% Snt Last Avg Best Wrst StDev 1.|-- 101.0.101.65 0.0% 5 1.0 1.2 0.9 1.7 0.0 2.|-- 101.0.126.41 0.0% 5 0.9 1.2 0.7 1.9 0.5 3.|-- 101.0.127.229 0.0% 5 0.3 0.4 0.3 0.7 0.0 4.|-- 103.26.68.150 0.0% 5 0.8 0.9 0.8 1.4 0.0 5.|-- 103.52.116.41 0.0% 5 1.8 1.9 1.8 1.9 0.0 6.|-- 103.52.116.30 0.0% 5 1.3 1.4 1.3 1.5 0.0
Using IPv6, I hit a mirror in Canada (from AS10929 - netelligent.ca):
[root@mirror01 ~]# mtr -rwc 5 -n -6 msync.centos.org Start: Wed May 25 09:32:54 2016 HOST: mirror01.digitalpacific.com.au Loss% Snt Last Avg Best Wrst StDev 1.|-- 2401:fc00:0:20e::1 0.0% 5 1.3 1.1 1.1 1.3 0.0 2.|-- 2401:fc00:1:1f::2 0.0% 5 0.7 1.9 0.7 6.6 2.5 3.|-- 2401:fc00:1:24::1 0.0% 5 0.3 1.6 0.3 3.5 1.6 4.|-- 2001:218:c000:5000::79 0.0% 5 0.7 0.5 0.4 0.7 0.0 5.|-- 2001:218:0:6000::62 0.0% 5 1.4 0.7 0.5 1.4 0.0 6.|-- 2001:218:0:2000::321 0.0% 5 165.9 161.0 157.7 165.9 4.3 7.|-- 2001:418:0:2000::126 60.0% 5 158.1 158.0 157.9 158.1 0.0 8.|-- 2001:668:0:3::8000:2bf1 0.0% 5 165.3 162.9 157.6 165.3 3.3 9.|-- 2001:668:0:2::1:4611 0.0% 5 227.3 224.1 219.0 227.7 4.6 10.|-- 2001:668:0:3:ffff:0:adcd:2f2e 0.0% 5 243.7 240.6 235.2 243.7 3.9 11.|-- 2605:9000:0:f7e::2 0.0% 5 243.5 240.3 235.3 243.9 4.5 12.|-- 2605:9000:0:400b::1 0.0% 5 245.5 243.7 238.8 250.2 4.6 13.|-- 2605:9000:401:102::2 0.0% 5 243.4 243.0 235.2 257.4 9.0
Our mirror (centos.mirror.digitalpacific.com.au) is coming from the following addresses:
101.0.120.90 2401:fc00:0:20e::a0
MaxMind's GeoIP database indicates both of our IPv4 and IPv6 are located within Sydney, which is correct.
Thanks, Matt.

Hi Justin,
Unfortunately, we only have one msync node in Australia, but not providing IPv6 actually (I'm in contact with them and hopefully it will change soon) so yes, your findings are correct : for all requests coming from Oceania/Australia over IPv6, we're redirecting to the nodes in America ...
Hi Fabian,
Thanks for the response.
I should have bottom posted, rather than top. :)
I believe we can assist with providing another msync node within Australia. Perhaps we can take this off-list to discuss?
Regards, Matthew.
